Our tour guide, Alyas, was very friendly and answered all of our questions. We were told everything about the origins of the United Arab Emirates, the development of the infrastructure and many other interesting facts. Great day to choose your own adventure comfortably in Abu Dhabi
Great day out from Dubai to see the sights in Abu Dhabi. There's a typical/suggested itinerary but it's completely up to you. It's great having autonomy to choose which places to spend more time at, and which places to skip to get that extra time. Our guide, Gul was on time and very communicative - from confirming the pickup point and time the day before to being very responsive to Whatsapp messages for when we were finished and ready to be picked up (or when one of our party needed to belatedly get her spare clothes from the car to get into the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque). He was informative about the attractions, but also open to chatting about what it's like to live in Dubai and putting the history in context. You get dropped off and picked up at each attraction, so you can explore at our own pace. Gul also organised our Mosque entry QR codes, and offered to organise tickets to the other attractions where needed (we had already pre-purchased them). The mini-van was clean, comfortable and well airconditioned - was very useful to be able to leave bags behind too. Just bear in mind it's a 10 hour tour (i.e. pickup and dropoff 8am to 6pm) - and 1.5 hrs drive between Dubai and Abu Dhabi (slightly more in the afternoon in busy peak hour traffic). Effectively a 6-7 hour day to see the attractions and drive between them - so highly recommend prioritising what to see! We ended up doing 2.5 hours at the Grand Mosque, 1.5 hrs or so at Qasr Al Watan, an hour at the Louvre and the remaining at Heritage village, Emirates Palace and Gul driving us around - especially to see Corniche beach on a 39 degree day from the comfort of the car.

Our tour guide Asif was the best company you could wish for. He loves doing this tour from the bottom of his heart, explains everything in an incredibly friendly way and with infectious motivation.
